Strengths

  • Perpetual licence at $79.99 means no subscription2.
  • Four colour scopes: Parade, Waveform, Vectorscope and Histogram9.
  • Proxy editing keeps originals for the final export8.
  • Documents OpenFX plug-ins from other developers, such as Boris FX and NewBlue10.
  • Lists 8K output formats and HDR export on Windows3,6.

Limits

  • Free version exports include a Filmora watermark1.
  • Perpetual licence gets updates within Filmora 16 only and is device-specific, so a Windows licence works only on Windows2.
  • No Linux or web editor is listed; desktop apps cover Windows and macOS only1.
  • HDR export needs GPU acceleration and runs about four times slower than SDR6.
