--- title: Icedrive canonical: https://saasranked.com/software/icedrive/ category: Cloud Storage Services points: 42 rank: 10 of 10 facts_checked: 2026-10-08 --- # Icedrive Cloud storage with a 10 GB free plan, client-side encryption, a mounted virtual drive and lifetime plans. 42 points out of 100. #10 of 10 cloud storage services. Vendor: Icedrive. Website: https://icedrive.net/ - The free plan gives 10 GB of storage [1]. - Pro gives 2 TB for €99 a year, with 40% off the first year (€59) [1]. - Lifetime plans cost €349 for 500 GB or €599 for 2 TB, paid once [2]. - Client-side encryption (Crypto) comes with paid plans and works in a separate Encrypted section [1][9]. - Apps cover Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android; the desktop app mounts your storage as a drive [4][5][8]. Verdict: Icedrive suits people who want a mounted drive in Windows and the choice of a one-time lifetime payment [2][5]. Its subscription plans keep file versions for 30 to 90 days and carry a 30-day refund promise [1]. The catch: Icedrive names no outside security audit and lists no family plan, and the free plan lacks client-side encryption [1][3][6]. Best for: People who want a mounted drive on Windows and a one-time payment option. ## Points | Criterion | Line | Value | Points | Note | |---|---|---|---|---| | Security and audits | End-to-end encryption | option | 5/10 | Crypto is listed on paid plans only; help pages describe a separate Encrypted section with limited previews [1][9]. | | Security and audits | Independent security test since 2024 | Not published | 0/6 | Not found on the vendor's pages; the encryption page names no outside tester [6]. | | Security and audits | SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 | Not published | 0/5 | Plans page lists ISO 27001 for its data centres only; no SOC 2 or company certification is named [1][6]. | | Security and audits | Open-source apps | Not published | 0/3 | Not found on the vendor's pages [4][5]. | | Security and audits | Security key for two-factor sign-in | Not published | 0/4 | Plans page lists two-factor as Google Authenticator (free) and Authenticator or SMS (paid); no security key is listed [1][7]. | | Security and audits | Public bug bounty | Not published | 0/3 | Not found on the vendor's pages [7][6]. | | Apps and sync | Apps | Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android | 10/10 | Desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux; mobile apps for Android and iOS [4][5][8]. | | Apps and sync | Files on demand in Windows | Yes | 6/6 | Desktop app mounts your cloud as a drive with no sync needed, caching recently used files [4]. | | Apps and sync | Choose which folders sync | Not published | 0/4 | Not found on the vendor's pages; the desktop app mounts a drive rather than syncing folders [4]. | | Recovery and sharing | File version and deleted-file history | 90 | 4/6 | Pro Max keeps versions for 90 days; Pro 30 and Pro Plus 60 [1]. | | Recovery and sharing | Restore the whole account | Not published | 0/4 | Not found on the vendor's pages [1][4]. | | Recovery and sharing | Password-protected share links | Yes | 4/4 | Lifetime plan table lists password protection for public links, not included on Free [2]. | | Recovery and sharing | Edit documents in the browser | No | 0/4 | Plans page lists Icedrive Docs as "Coming Soon" [1]. | | Recovery and sharing | Plan for five or more people | No | 0/4 | The plans page lists only single-user plans [1]. | | Price and plans | Free plan with 5 GB or more | Yes | 5/5 | Free tier with 10 GB of storage [1]. | | Price and plans | Cheapest paid plan with 100 GB or more | $9.23/mo | 0/8 | Pro 2 TB: €99 a year regular, divided by 12; first year €59 [1].
