--- title: Adobe Premiere Pro canonical: https://saasranked.com/software/adobe-premiere-pro/ category: Video Editing Software points: 34 rank: 11 of 12 facts_checked: 2026-10-08 --- # Adobe Premiere Pro Subscription video editor for Windows and Mac with multicam, captions from speech and shared team projects. 34 points out of 100. #11 of 12 video editors. Vendor: Adobe. Website: https://www.adobe.com/products/premiere.html - Premiere is sold only as a membership; there is no one-time licence [1]. - The plan starts at US$22.99 a month, annual plan billed monthly, for the first year and for new subscribers only [1]. - A seven-day free trial of the desktop editor is offered; there is no free desktop version [1]. - Speech to Text captions are included in the subscription, with currently no set limit for individual subscribers' own projects [8]. - Team Projects for shared timelines comes with all Creative Cloud subscriptions [7]. Verdict: Premiere Pro suits editors who accept a subscription in return for multicam editing, Speech to Text and shared Team Projects [4][7][8]. The first-year price is US$22.99 a month for new subscribers, and the page does not state the price after that [1]. The catch: there is no one-time licence or free desktop version, and the US government's billing case against Adobe settled in 2026 [13][14]. Best for: Editors who want a subscription editor that works with team projects and Adobe's other apps. ## Points | Criterion | Line | Value | Points | Note | |---|---|---|---|---| | Systems | Other systems | macOS, iOS, Android | 6/10 | Free trial works on macOS and Windows; a separate free mobile app for iOS and Android [9][10]. | | Price and licence | Free version | No | 0/8 | The desktop editor has no free plan, only a seven-day free trial [1]. | | Price and licence | One-time licence | No | 0/6 | Premiere is available only as a membership [1]. | | Price and licence | Cheapest paid plan | Not published | 0/12 | US$22.99 a month is first-year, new-subscribers-only; the regular price is not stated [1]. | | Price and licence | Open-source apps | Not published | 0/4 | Not published on the vendor's Premiere pages [1][3]. | | Output | 4K export | Not published | 0/4 | Not published on the vendor's pages [1][3]. | | Output | 8K export | Not published | 0/3 | Not published on the vendor's pages [1][3]. | | Output | 10-bit and HDR | Not published | 0/4 | HDR appears only on the Color Mode page, which is a beta [12]. 10-bit not found [1][5]. | | Output | GPU-accelerated export | Not published | 0/5 | Pages mention GPU-accelerated effects and scopes, not hardware encoding or decoding [5][6]. | | Editing tools | Multi-camera editing | Yes | 6/6 | Group and play multiple camera clips, synced by audio waveform, timecode or markers [4]. | | Editing tools | Colour grading with scopes | Yes | 6/6 | Hardware-accelerated Lumetri scopes: Vectorscope, Histogram, Parade and Waveform [5]. | | Editing tools | Automatic captions | Yes | 5/5 | Speech to Text is included in the Premiere subscription, with currently no set limit for individuals [8]. | | Editing tools | Motion tracking | Yes | 4/4 | Tracking tools let you track objects for targeted adjustments [6]. | | Editing tools | Multitrack audio and noise reduction | Not published | 0/4 | A Reduce Noise effect is listed [11]; the number of audio tracks is not found on the vendor's pages [11]. | | Editing tools | Proxy editing | Not published | 0/4 | Not published on the vendor's pages [1][3][4]. | | Editing tools | Third-party plug-ins | Not published | 0/4 | Features page mentions over 400 third-party apps and integrations, not plug-in support [3]. | | Editing tools | Shared projects | Yes | 3/3 | Team Projects is available with all Creative Cloud subscriptions, for shared timelines [7]. | | Editing tools | Green-screen keying | Yes | 4/4 | Compositing tools can replace green screens [6]. | | Editing tools | Video stabilisation | Not published | 0/4 | Not published on the vendor's pages [3][6]. | ## Plans | Plan | Price | Per month (USD) | |---|---|---| | Premiere (annual, billed monthly) | US$22.99/month, first year only [1] | $22.99 | | Creative Cloud Pro (annual, billed monthly) | US$34.99/month for 3 months, then US$69.99 [1] | $69.99 | | Premiere free trial | Free for 7 days [1] | $0 | Adobe shows US$22.99 a month for Premiere as a first-year, new-subscriber price and does not state the price after year one [1].
