# 5KPlayer

Free Windows and Mac player with DVD playback, hardware decoding, AirPlay and DLNA.

56 points out of 100. #5 of 12 media players. Vendor: Digiarty. Website: https://www.5kplayer.com/

- 5KPlayer is described as totally free; the stable version is 6.11, dated 30 January 2026 [2][3][6].
- It runs on Windows and macOS; no Linux, Android or iOS player is offered [1][4].
- Windows hardware decoding works through DXVA, NVIDIA CUDA and Intel QSV [8].
- Source code is on GitHub under GPL-2.0 [2][10].
- The download page promotes VideoProc Converter AI with a download button [3].

Verdict: 5KPlayer suits people on Windows or Mac who want a free player with DVD playback, hardware decoding, HDR and DLNA [1][5][8]. The catch: the download page promotes another product, and the privacy policy says the company collects software usage statistics [3][9][12]. Best for: People who want a free player that also streams to and from Apple and DLNA devices.
